- I have been developing software for over 16 years. I first started with PowerBuilder back in 1992 using version 2.0. For the last five years I have moved on and do almost all my development in C# (Which you guys have named the Dark Arts, lol). However, I recently took a consulting assignment for a client that has a PowerBuilder application whose source code has not been touched in 10 years. In a wierd twist on the marketplace, PowerBuilder saved my ass. Despite an excellent resume building C# application for some of NYC leading companies it was my PowerBuilder skills that found me this gig.
I can say one thing certain, there is nothing like the DataWindow and I look forward to the CTP edition of PowerBuilder 12 with great anticipation. Despite venturing on the dark side I hope to be welcomed back into the fold. Who knows, if PB 12 kicks ass I may even stay awhile.
